Community Spotlight: Bridge Granny

Community Spotlight: Bridge Granny / Emily Fisher

You’ve likely seen Bridge Granny pop up on your feed. Her piercing combinations and jewelry choices have captured hearts (and gone viral) across the piercing community. But behind the handle is Judith, whose genuine love for jewelry and self-expression shines just as brightly offline.

We had a chance to ask Judith questions about her favorite piercings, her go-to jewelry pieces, and what inspired her love of the art form.

Can you share the story behind your nickname “Bridge Granny” and how it all started?

“Bridge Granny” started when one of Rose Cottage Body Specialist posts of my piercing gained over 33k likes. The post was of my bridge piercing, with of course Anatometal jewellery. This was really the first time that people saw me on social media and there were very many comments about my age. There were a lot of people asking who I was, so I decided to set up my own Instagram page. I decided to stick with a name that people would recognise me by. Bridge (as in the piercing) Granny (as in my age). And so “Bridge Granny” was born.

What was your first piercing, and what inspired you to start your piercing journey?

My first piercing was a lobe. My daughter, Abigail Wood, along with her business partner, Jackson Xavier, opened up their own piercing and tattoo studio in Swansea, UK. As a mother, I decided to support Abigail in her new business venture, and this is when I had my first piercing. I really wish she had chosen a less painful trade for me to support her with! 😉

All the piercings that I have are my own ideas even though my daughter is my piercer. I just tell her what I want and sometimes she says no if I don't have the correct anatomy.
She won't let me have a Nasalang piercing!

I still have quite a few more piercings lined up including an extra special one for December as it will be my 60th birthday!

Do you have a favorite piercing or jewelry piece right now?

My favourite piercing has to be my bridge piercing. The piercing is absolutely spot on and the Anatometal jewellery is stunning.

What do piercings mean to you personally?

My piercings are fun, and I love all of the pretty jewellery that’s available. If the truth be told they’ve become a bit of an obsession! 😂

What’s your experience like getting pierced at Rose Cottage Body Specialists?

Rose Cottage Body Specialists are by far the best around. You will never meet anyone more professional and caring than Abi & Jack. The studio is stunning, and you always get a warm, genuine welcome from them. They really appreciate and value all their customers. I wouldn’t dream of going anywhere else.

Do you have any advice for someone thinking about getting their first piercing?

Go for it! Don’t let age get in your way. Be warned, once you’ve had the first one it gets addictive! 😂

We absolutely loved learning more about Bridge Granny, and her story is a reminder to us that jewelry is more than just adornment...it’s art, identity, and connection. You can follow her piercing journey on Instagram @birdge_granny, and don’t forget to share your own piercings with us @anatometalinc
