The Art of Anatometal Photo Contest Winners
For our first Art of Anatometal Photo Contest, we invited our community to show us Anatometal through their lens. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took the time to conceptualize, capture, and share their work with us. Each submission reflected a unique perspective, thoughtful intention, and a deep connection to both the craft of piercing and the artistry of jewelry. Reviewing these entries was not only inspiring but also a reminder of how creative, expressive, and talented this community truly is.
Selecting winners was no easy task. After much consideration, we are excited to highlight the three submissions that stood out to our team.
First Place
Raven Piercings
Zana Daniels
Bee Quiet!
This striking series, titled Bee Quiet!, centers around a powerful message of expression and visibility. The collection depicts women, piercing artists, and clients refusing to stay silent. Embracing boldness, individuality, and presence.
“We will use Anatometal Jewellery to be our bold, bright, stylish, diverse and ferocious selves, and even in our quiet moments we will continue to be seen and heard.” - Zana Daniels
The intention, storytelling, and visual impact of this submission deeply resonated with our team.
Second Place
Memento Mori Studios Inc.
Megan Naito
Yugʷuxᵛ
Set in the area traditionally known as Khanahmoot, this series reflects on the contrast between past and present. Once abundant with shellfish, the land is now shaped by shipping traffic and industrial light.
Megan explained they used light pollution intentionally, creating layered visual effects while expressing a sense of mourning for the pre-colonial landscape. The result is a thoughtful and atmospheric body of work that blends environment, history, and emotion.
The final image in the series features Megan Naito, photographed by Ryan Tantrum in the same location: Khanahmoot, now known as New Brighton Park.
Third Place
Tappttooed Ink
Sorren Jade
Camryn
This whimsical and elegant series centers on the artist’s love of Anatometal’s ability to bring natural elements of the earth into piercing and fashion. With a focus on softness, movement, and composition, the images highlight how jewelry can feel both organic and elevated.
